Bake it, cool it,
give it
The case is the tin and the wrapping paper, so a homemade panettone goes from oven to present without ever leaving it.
-
1
Prove and bake in the case
Shape the dough, drop it into the case and let it prove there. The case stands on its own, so a flat baking tray is all you need. No tin.
-
2
Hang it upside down
Push two skewers through the base as it comes out of the oven and hang it to cool, so the light crumb does not sink.
-
3
Tie a ribbon, give it
It is already in its coloured paper wrapper. Add a ribbon and a tag and it is ready to go under the tree.
Tested in our kitchen
We bake with everything before it goes on the site. If it does not do the job, we do not sell it.

Christmas baking
questions
Cases, boards, cutters, presents and getting it all here in time.
Do I need a panettone tin?
No. The paper case is the mould and it stands up on its own. Shape the dough, prove it in the case, stand the case on a flat baking tray and bake it. It comes out of the oven already wrapped, so there is no tin to grease and nothing to turn out. Panettone paper cases come in packs of 6 or 12.
Which panettone case size should I choose?
There are two. The 150mm by 95mm case is the larger, for a full-size panettone, in red, gold or brown. The 105mm by 100mm case is thickened kraft paper in deep burgundy, which holds its shape for a taller bake. Both come in packs of 6 or 12.
What size cake board do I need?
Go about two inches wider than the cake, so there is a border to hold and room for decoration: an 8in cake on a 10in board, a 10in cake on a 12in board. The 6mm gold board is the thicker option for a heavier cake.
How big are the Christmas cookie cutters?
Each cutter is 8cm tall: a Christmas tree, a star, a gingerbread man and an angel, sold together as a set of four in stainless steel. At that size the biscuits are big enough to ice, hang on the tree with a ribbon, or box up as presents.
Is a starter kit a good present?
It works as one: everything arrives in a single box, the dehydrated starter keeps in the cupboard until they are ready to use it, and there is nothing else they need to buy before their first loaf. The sets are above. If you want it to land on a particular date, email us and we will hold the dispatch. If you would rather pick every item yourself, build your own.
Which of these can go in the dishwasher?
The 24cm silicone spatula and the silicone pastry brush are dishwasher safe. Anything with a wooden handle, the large spatula and the balloon whisk, should be washed by hand and dried straight away. The cookie cutters wash in warm soapy water; dry them before they go back in the box.
When will my Christmas order arrive?
Orders placed before 2pm Monday to Friday leave our UK warehouse the same day. Standard delivery is by Royal Mail Tracked 48, usually one to two working days, and it is free on orders over £50. Royal Mail gets busier through December, so for anything you need before Christmas, order early rather than close to the last posting dates.
Can I return something if I change my mind?
Yes. Anything unused and in its packaging can come back within 30 days for a refund. Cases and boards that have been baked with cannot be returned.
