Compatible with WECK RR80 glass lids, rubber sealing rings and stainless steel clips (sold separately).
- Compact, takes up little space
- Wider 80 mm mouth, easier to feed and scrape
- Clear glass so you can see the fermentation

Why bakers keep their starter in a WECK jar
Growing your starter: lid resting on top
While your starter is active, it needs to breathe. Rest the glass lid on top without the seal, and gas escapes as it rises while dust and kitchen smells stay out. Through the clear glass you can see exactly how far it has risen and when it's ready to bake with.
In the fridge: seal and clips on
Between bakes, add the rubber seal and the two steel clips. The jar closes tight, so your starter can sit in the fridge and be fed once a week instead of every day, without drying out or picking up smells.
One jar, both jobs
Glass doesn't react with your starter, the wide mouth makes stirring and scraping out easy, and the jar and lid go in the dishwasher. Genuine WECK glass, made in Germany since 1900.
Buying the jar only? The seal and clips turn it into a fridge jar whenever you need one.
